Servicing the East Coast from the Northern Rivers up to the Greater Brisbane regions, we specialise in the manufacture of custom-fit sports mouthguards designed to provide optimal comfort, safety, and performance. Our primary goal is to safeguard athletes' teeth at all levels, from junior to professional, through a streamlined process that maximises convenience for both athletes and their families.

By bringing our services directly to your location, we eliminate the need for clinic visits. We take dental impressions on-site and return within one week to deliver the perfect-fitting mouthguard. Whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced athlete, you can trust our highly qualified team to provide the ideal solution for your oral protection needs. Meet The Team

Dee Myburgh

Dental Prosthetist & Technician

Dee is our experienced senior prosthetist, originally from Namibia, who moved to Australia in 2010 and made the Gold Coast his home. With 24 years of experience as a Dental Technician, Dee transitioned into the field of Dental Prosthetics to specialise in creating high-quality, customized mouthguards that provide both comfort and protection for his patients. His passion for personalised care allows him to work closely with each patient to design mouthguards that meet their specific needs.

Dee is married to his wife Machelle, and together they’ve raised two beautiful daughters. Outside of work, Dee enjoys supporting his daughters' sports activities and exploring the great outdoors. His commitment to his craft and love for connecting with people ensures that every patient receives compassionate dental care and top-notch products.

Bella Lynch

Dental Prosthetist & Technician

Bella is our home-grown talented junior prosthetist and newest member of the ONYA team. Graduating at the top of her class from Griffith University in 2022, Bella brings meticulous technical skills and attention to detail, ensuring that every custom-made mouthguard provides a seamless fit. With a few years of clinical experience already under her belt, Bella is passionate about playing a key role in the business to help deliver high-quality mouthguards for our clients.

In addition to her prosthetic work, she also has a hand in the administrative side of things to make sure we're always running smoothly. When Bella’s not in the lab or on-the-go with ONYA Mouthguards, you’ll find her busy working as a dental assistant, enjoying cosy video games, indulging in delicious food, getting creative, or soaking up some sun at the beach.

Fred van Zijl

Manager

Fred, originally from Namibia, moved to South Africa for his professional qualifications before settling on the Gold Coast in 2015 with his wife and two daughters. With over 25 years of experience in financial management, business strategy, and accounting, Fred holds a CPA qualification, a Bachelor of Commerce, and an Honours Bachelor of Accounting Science Degree. Passionate about innovation and building relationships, Fred thrives in challenging environments and is committed to delivering positive business outcomes. Whether working with customers, suppliers, or partners, he focuses on creating lasting connections and success.

Outside of work, Fred is a triathlete who enjoys the active Gold Coast lifestyle and cheering on his daughters at netball games. His love for sports and athlete safety led him to ONYA Mouthguards, helping athletes play hard while protecting their smiles!

  1. We Come To You

The team arrives equipped with all tools necessary to take precise dental impressions and on-the-day payments.

All we require is a small area to set up a table and chair with access to a powerpoint.

  1. Fabrication Stage

Using the impressions taken on the day, our skilled technicians craft and personalise the custom-fit mouthguard orders in our laboratory.

* Turn-around time subject to availability of colours.

  1. Mouthguard Fitting

After one week, the team returns to your location to fit the mouthguards.

We can take any outstanding payments and make on-the-spot adjustments if necessary to ensure the perfect fit.

  1. Play With Confidence

Once fitted, your athletes can take on their next game or practice with confidence, knowing that their teeth are protected by a high-quality ONYA Mouthguard.
